Falcon Pine, How To Care For Your Hand Made Pine Kitchens, Fitted Wardrobes & Furniture

We use medium brown briwax for the majority of our finishing of all our products, however we can stain or wax in a variety of shades.

DETAILS ON HOW TO LOOK AFTER OUR WAXED PRODUCTS -

The pine furniture / kitchens / fitted robes` is made using traditional techniques largely by hand and it is bought by customers on the understanding that a small amount of maintenance may be required to be undertaken by the customer from time to time.

We prefer our items to look as traditional as possible & therefore we use a wax which improves the quality of the finish after each application, so that over the years the finish will look better & better as the wood mellows & extra applications of wax are added - so becoming the antiques of tomorrow.

Briwax gives the desired traditional stripped pine finish & NOT the glossy mass-produced type of finish that can be found at non specialist furniture stores which buy in their furniture.

The maintenance referred to, to be undertaken by the customer is that for example if a liquid is split onto the surface then splash marks could appear.

To then regain the original finish, use a fine wire wool along with a small amount of briwax & gently apply along the grain of the wood until the marks have gone.

Then use a soft cotten cloth to apply wax to the whole of the surface, ensuring that it is rubbed on thinly.

Rub off all excess wax & leave for around 30 minutes.

Use a clean cotten rag to buff up and shine the area to the required level in the same way you would shine a pair of shoes.

The same process should be repeated whenever you feel the finish of the item bought is becoming dull or faded.
