I began adding the carving now known as the Falcon`s Tail onto my work when i was 16 years old working in my own time in my parents garden shed.

I added it to the furniture i made for family and then a year later when i began making writing desk bureaux from old timber which were exported via a trade dealer to Holland, Belgium and the USA.

Over the years i must have carved thousands and thousands of the Falcon`s Tail logo into my work and i have taught my apprentices how to carve it also and they get the same satisfaction from the individual mark as i do.

It means a lot to me now, looking back in 2008 - some 22 years later and we hope it means as much to you , the customers as it does to us.

It has been reported to us several times that a former employee of Falcon Pine has set up a pine business in the Halifax area and is actively using designs belonging to Falcon Pine, inparticular the logo that owner Michael Bartle has carved onto all his work for over 20 years from the age of 16 in the form of a falcon`s tail feather. (Seen below on the top of the settle)

Whilst we wish the former employee all the best for the future we feel that it is a misuse of an individual mark that is not only unique but also indeed a truly personal touch belonging only to Michael Bartle.
