FALCON PINE 7 HALIFAX RANGERS 2
W.Crossley 3, Probets 1, Huggon 1, Holroyd 2 (pine)
Ireland2 (Rangers)
Falcon Pine Fc ran out comfortable winners on a blustery day at Falcon`s
new pitch on Savile Park.
Attacking midfielder Callium Huggon, who is being watched by Huddersfield
Town....scored Falcon`s opener with his 3rd headed goal in as many games having been converted to a central midfielder by
manager Bob Bartle.
Bartle explains his reasons why `I felt Callim has
what it takes to become the type of player for Falcon that Steve Gerrard is for Liverpool. He has all the attributes to become
a force at the Sunday league level and its no surprise to me that the scouts are watching as he is a young lad with a lot
to offer`
With Rangers 0-1 down they took a battering from a Falcon side playing
some sublime football with many excellent passing moves with the movement a joy to watch.
But it took over 25 minutes to find the 2nd when Matt Holroyd was put
through by Wayne Crossley. And it was Crossley himself that added a 3rd after a superb pass by Sam Rowe was flicked on by Chapman
and a Rangers player handled the ball in the box to conced a penalty which Crossley converted..
Falcon then missed several opportunities to extend the lead but it was
Rangers that scored twice quickly before half time, against the run of play and with both goals very much wind assisted as
Steve Ireland capped a fine display with two goals scored from his free kicks and that Pine keeper Dean Crossley could not
do anything to prevent.
In the 2nd half, Crossley effectively won the game for Falcon with another
well worked team goal with him adding the final touch and soon after he added a 4th.
At 5-3 up,rookie goal machine Adam Probets was introduced and he promptly
scored his 1st for several games as he has missed through injury.
Again Pine should have added several more goals with Crossley, man of
the match Allinson and Bartle being the main culprits..although Bartle had a fantastic shot spectaculary saved by Mick Field
in the Rangers net as he palmed it away from the top corner.Ironically it was Bartle that had reccomened Mick Field
should sign for Rangers.
Matt Holroyd converted Pines 7th of the day before being withdrawn to
cap a fine display overall by a strongly fancied Falcon Pine team searching for promotion.
