FALCON 5 OVENDEN 0
W.CROSSLEY 4 - M.HOLROYD 1
Falcon Pine proved they can become promotion contenders with a convincing 5-0 win over top of
the table Ovenden.
Matt Holroyd opened the scoring with a cool finish after being put through by Matt Chapman.
In a purple patch everything seemed to gel for Pine as they increased the lead to 3-0 with two
great finishes from Crossley.
With several players on both side missing through injury, the game entered a dull phase early
in the 2nd half but Crossley was again to grab two more goals to make it 5-0.
Ovenden had earlier shown signs of a comeback with the score at 3-0 but they could not find a
way past Dean Crossley who kept a 1st clean sheet for Pine.
Man of the match for Ovenden was Phil Livesey, who looked a class apart. But he alone was the
only real performer on a off day for Ovenden.
Falcon, who played this final game at Beechwood Rec will now revert back to the original pitch
at Saville Park and hope the better surface will suit their slick passing game.
