BRADSHAW PHEONIX 1 FALCON PINE 1
PHEONIX D.PITT 1 - PINE C.HUGGON 1
HT 1-0

In perfect conditions at Natty Lane, promotion hopefuls Bradshaw Pheonix and Falcon Pine continued their rivalry with yet another hard faught game.
Over the last few seasons Pine and Pheonix have shared the same division, reaching division 1 and remaining there for several seasons before both clubs suffered relegation together.
Pine have usually come out on top but today it was a stalement at 1-1 and both clubs will be satisfied with a point at this stage following mixed starts to the season.

Falcon started the brighter of the teams with Ben Manning pulling the strings along with forwards Matt Holroyd and Wayne Crossley.
But it was Pheonix that took the lead against the run of play when a good move between man of the match Ross Hartley and Dale Gordon lead to a corner and giant centre half Darren Pitt scored a header to beat the helpless Dean Crossley in the pine keepers jersey.

Pheonix continued to press from set pieces but in general play Falcon were making more inroads but with no real finish to their play.

But Pine who were missing 6 regulars plugged away and were rewarded for their efforts after 60 minutes when rookie midfielder Callium Huggon saw his scuffed left foot shot sneak in for a fortunate equaliser.

As Pine`s defensive back line grew in confidence, stand in left back Chris Smart and captain Jonny Brownridge were solid throughout the second half but a nasty knee injury to 18 year old Sam Rowe took the gloss off the performance and despite a few late flurries by both sides towards the end, a draw was a fair result and reffereed in a very good manner by Mr Wright the man in black.
