Falcon Goaless & Pointless
Falcon Pine 0 Halifax Hammers 1
(h-t 0-0)
Pine lacked any kind of threat towards the Hammers goal in this game and although a point was
worthy of them, in the end losing was no big suprise as so many players were below par.
Although Falcon started well and made inroads into the Hammers half, they could not make any
clear openings and a shot on the half volley by Bartle was their only real effort on goal in the whole match.
Hammers, relegated from division 1 stepped up a gear in the second half and a couple of their
players had to be watched but Falcon will see this as 3 points thrown away.
New signing Wayne Crossley making his debut was ineffective as was his new strike partner Adam
Probets and indeed the whole Pine midfield.
Pine`s frustration of not scoring lead to manager Bartle changing the formation to a more positive
352 in an attempt to get more bodies into the Hammers box but whilst it worked for a while eventually with Pine still not
having any chances, the Hammers sensed they could win and win they did with a controversal goal as Smith was flattened leaving
the Hammers forward Irqwal to score from close range.
