Playing in a reserve team game we all got to the pitch away to Railway
Rovers early and were already changed when Andy comes into the changing room which is in the old house down Ludd` Foot.
Quick as a flash, Bob says to Andy before he puts his bag down, `Sorry mate but as
you are the last player here we already have 1 sub but the manager of the other team downstairs has asked us if they can borrow
a player from us as they only have 10 men.`
Andy looks back a bit confused and says a few rambling words as the room goes quiet
except for a few muffled laughs.....then somebody chirps up, `C`mon Andy its only fair that we play against a full team mate,
you had better go down and put the kit on`
So off he goes and the room erupts into laughter,a couple of minutes later and Lents
comes back up fully changed in a red kit and as we walk out to the pitch their manager trots over saying he is going alomg
with it and even got the ref Sean McMoran to go along with it with the plan being for the ref to go up to him and show him
a red card before the game for not being signed on !
But then Andy, last out comes out wearing a Pine kit and goes and spoils it all
saying `its not fair lads, i was told id be playing for Pine`
Ha ha, Oh well we nearly got you 100% Andy but you gave us a great laugh
that day and no need for a team talk !
