New Inn 1 Falcon Pine 2
West Riding Trophy
(Pine - Probets 2)
18 year old Adam Probets yet again grabbed the headlines with a brace of goals
in a hard faught game in Wibsey to secure a 4th round place for the Pine.
However Falcon started slowly and took a while to get to grips with the physical
side of New Inn`s game and when they took the lead after 25 minutes it was no real surprise.
The goal came about from a corner which New Inn`s Graham Lock hit home into the
top corner.
Pine`s new signing Ben Orchard then tipped a shot over the bar in spectacular fashion
to keep the halftime score to just 0-1 to New Inn.
After the break Falcon raised their aggression levels and when Bartle put Probets
through there was only one outcome as he slotted it away.
Constant pressure on both defences meant that Pine`s man of the match Craig Smith
and Jonny Brownridge were kept very busy but they dealt with everything with ease.
Pine`s wide players Matthew Chapman and Scott Allinson were always a threat and
with Holroyd a thorn in New Inn`s side, Probets smashed home the winner with 20 minutes to go and Falcon always looked in
control thereafter.
