Falcon Pine 7 Waiters Arms 1
(Pine- Allinson 1,Holroyd 2, Probets 3, Lenton 1)
(Waiters- Fenton 1)
Waiters Arms, fresh from a 13-1 win the week previously started this game full of confidence
and it was against the run of play when man of the match Scott Allinson scored from a sweetly struck free kick past the stranded
Jamie Jepson in the Waiters net.
Waiters player manager Adam Fenton headed home the equaliser following sloppy defending at the
far post by John Bailey, who for some reason didn`t even attempt to jump !
Soon after Matt Holroyd got Pine back in front and Adam Probets increased their lead following
a slick passing move involving six Pine players before Bob Bartle made the killer pass for goal machine Probets to run onto.
3-1 at the break and Waiters tried hard to get back into the game with their man of the match
Stephen McStraffick making probing runs from defence.
But it was Falcon that wrapped up the match with Probets scoring his 3rd hatrick of the season
as well as Holroyd grabbing his second following a cheeky lob from pine player boss Bartle.
Substitute Andy Lenton came on for the last 25 minutes and gave a dazzling performance with some
nifty footwork, his every touch was class and he scored from the penalty spot after he himself was brought down as the Waiters
back four could not match his pace.
7-1 the final score and Falcon, although depleted with 9 of their 23 man squad injured or unavailable
will be glad to take the points before next Sunday`s West Riding Trophy game in which they hope to progress to the 4th round.
