FALCON PINE 2000 FC V HALIFAX PHEONIX
1-5 (H-T 0-2)
Understrength Falcon were well beaten having had to play a stand in keeper and having several regulars out, their woes
became worse when already 0-2 down Matty Holroyd had to limp off.
Halifax Pheonix played the better of the football but Pine seemed to be coping well and Woodhouse scored the first of
a hatrick of goals when he scored following a low drive that the keeper couldn't keep out.
Soon after Pheonix scored another with a good hard strike but the pine stand in wasn't able to deal with it and conceded
a basic goal that Falcon`s regular custodian would have dealt with.
In the 2nd half, with Pine having used their only sub player manager Bob Bartle pulled a calf muscle and had to struggle
on for the remainder of the game and soon after Pheonix added their third with sloppy midfield defending allowing Malik through
to score.
Pine captain Stephen Scholey game Falcon a slim glimmer of hope when he did well to nick the ball off the keeper and
finished into an open net.
Another goalkeeping blunder allowed Woodhouse a simple tap in and Iqbal the scored the fifth goal for Halifax Pheonix
who were deserved winners whilst Pine who are hopeful of signing two new players this week will be dipping into the transfer
market at just the right time.
